On Being a DC Native

Auxiliary Programs Director Dawn Smith was one of four winners of the recent Washington City Paper essay contest. Eligibility was strict. To be considered, essayists had to tell where they were born, what neighborhood they grew up in, and what high school they graduated from. In her essay, Dawn recounts her experiences in nearly every corner of the city.
