Documentary filmmaker and photographer Anna Clare Spelman ’97 is working on her first feature film. The story follows Maddie, a young transgender girl, from elementary school through high school. Her photograph of Maddie (above) was featured in Women Photograph: 2018 Year in Pictures. Anna’s video, “After the Fire,” for Univision News Digital, won third place in the Online Video Storytelling: News and Issue category of the National Press Photographers Association’s Best of Photojournalism 2019.
